Monash University Graduate Scholarship in Australia 2026 – Application Guidelines

The Monash University Graduate Scholarship annually provides completely funded scholarships with stipends to eligible domestic and international students who are interested in studying in Australia.

The Monash University Scholarships are available to eligible students and provide a stipend of $38,145 per year in addition to complete tuition fees. In addition, the scholarship provides opportunities for you to establish connections with industry partners and alumni.

Details of the Monash University Graduate Scholarship

Monash University is dedicated to the development of the next generation of research leaders and currently has more than 1,000 graduate research students who are involved in our areas of expertise.

Her scholarship has provided significant financial assistance, particularly to international students, and Monash University is currently ranked #40 in the Best Global Universities list. Instead of being required to work part-time, they are able to engage in extracurricular activities, complete an internship, and concentrate on research projects. 

Currently, there are 32 distinct research themes in which PhD and Masters by Research scholarship opportunities are available to prominent engineering researchers who are engaged in pioneering research.

How to Apply

Interested and qualified applicants should follow the procedures below to successfully submit an application;

  • visit the scholarship application webpage
  • Step 1: Check your eligibility. 
  • Step 2: Find a supervisor search – available projects and supervisors,
    • Contact the supervisor to discuss the project (eg via Zoom or phone call), and then complete the Expressions of Interest Form
  • Step 3: Submit an expression of interest
  • Step 4: Obtain an invitation to apply
  • Step 5: Submit required documents and Apply

IMPORTANT: You can only submit one application per scholarship round or admission period (i.e. January – June and July – December). Ensure you confirm your preferred faculty, course and supervisor before you apply. 

What happens next?

Once you submit your application it will be directed to your preferred supervisor and faculty for review. From there, processes vary based on faculty or campus – you may be contacted for an interview or further information, or you may receive an outcome directly.

Scholarship outcomes: Scholarship outcomes are released approximately six to ten weeks after the relevant round closes. For new students, admission assessment usually begins after scholarship results have been released.

Note: for scholarship round 3 (international) in 2026, outcomes will be released in the week commencing 11th October 2026.

Admission outcomes: Admission-only applications are typically processed within six weeks.
