Key Responsibilities
The Payroll Assistant will support the payroll function by:
- Assisting in monthly payroll processing
- Updating employee payroll records (salary, allowances, deductions, benefits)
- Supporting statutory deductions (PAYE, pension, NSITF, ITF, etc.)
- Reconciling payroll data and resolving discrepancies
- Preparing payroll schedules and reports
- Handling basic employee payroll inquiries
- Maintaining confidentiality of payroll information
- Assisting during audits and compliance checks
Requirements
Applicants should have:
- HND or BSc in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
- 1–2 years experience in payroll or accounting support (advantageous)
- Good knowledge of payroll processes and statutory deductions
- Strong Microsoft Excel and Office skills
- Experience with payroll software is an added advantage
